Robotics-Workshop on 13th, 14th and 15th December (Level 1, 2 and 3)

The Robotics - Workshop is an interactive event in which students of STD XI & XII, participate to prepare a robot, which can move in all 4 directions and can be controlled by remote connected to it. There are upper stages of robot making, in which speed can be controlled, robot can move in a line once command given, without wires connected to it (cordless, with sensor), it can identify obstacles in its path and change its path accordingly to avoid obstacles. With powerful batteries supporting the heavy metalloid robot, students take part in ROBO-WAR competitions held at various engineering colleges and even at IIT. Our students have been winning such events at VJTI, SOMAIYYA and even at IIT since past 4 - 5 years. It's a commendable achievement to win amongst degree students of engineering colleges, and they brought laurels to our college. Master Abbas Patrawala and Jigar Parekh are few names (past students) who had achieved position 1 or 2, at 4 different colleges in similar robo-wars competitions including one held at IIT, Mumbai. Master Rohit Pandey fetched appreciation certificate at VJTI, Technovanza event (then), and recently his team bagged 2nd prize in IIT Techfest at Jamshedpur in Sep 2017.

These stages of robo making is categorized as Level 1, Level 2 and so on ... Higher the level, better the functionalities and more complex the working …

Till now, we have had team of students (3rd and 4th year BE students) from K J Somaiyya College and VJTI coming here to conduct such workshops. Conducting training for level 2 is also, demands huge patience and manpower. The training Team needs that type of dedicated masters and similar students who can grasp it and execute it within specified time limits.

This year we take it a step ahead, and participants will be taken to Level 3 of this innovation.

We try keeping it at minimal cost to students but they need the robot (raw materials using which bot is prepared) which costs Rs 1200 approx for level 1 (4 students together can share the cost).

For Level 1, 2 and 3 both, the cost goes up to maximum Rs. 3200/- approx. This fee is not an entry fee for the workshop; it is the cost of raw materials (given to students for making robot) which the trainers purchase from market for participating students.

If participating students purchase the materials of their own, they will not have to pay any amount. They can directly participate with their own materials.

At the end of the 2-day workshop, best robots and winning robots (after competition) will be awarded prizes and certificates for all participants.

Students can visit website to see glimpse of previous workshops held at college. After the workshop, students can take away the robots with them to cherish these memories with family and friends.

Date of workshop(3-Days) 2018, Dec 13, 14 and 15
Place of workshop3rd Floor Hall, TPB College
Cost per RobotRs 3200/- approx (team of 4 students can share one robot)

Each team (of 4 students) that enrolls will nominate one team leader (for easy coordination with us) and the amount in cash must be paid to college office on or before the last date 01.12.2018.
